Timing is Everything!

If this is the first time you have prepared a grant application package, be sure to allow yourself enough time to do a good job. With that in mind, this section introduces two planners - one for 8 weeks, which assumes that you are starting to work on your proposal once the Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) is released and another for 12 weeks for those who start working on their application package once the Topics document is released.  Be sure to check the DOE release dates & timeline first (available here), so you are aware of how much time you will have. It is always preferable to have as much time as possible.
